Our Function:
Words for Living Ministries, Inc. is a non-denominational, evangelical,
Christian ministry, chartered in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1983.
We are primarily a teaching ministry, emphasizing the application of the
Word of God to everyday living (hence, the name), both in the USA and
abroad. In addition, we publish a bi-monthly newsletter, books, tracts
and other materials that communicate the Good News of Jesus, inform and
edify the Body of Christ, and conduct retreats. We support the work of
other ministries with less resources than ours, giving away consistently
25% or more of the ministry's income. We conduct evangelistic missions
in underdeveloped countries and support the ongoing work of established
missionaries.
We resist trends, fads and other causes of excitement that confuse or
divide the Body of Christ or use, or victimize, its people. We endeavor
to keep Jesus Christ the center of all we do, hold to the simplicity of
the Gospel, and build all we do and say on the foundational principle
of the Apostles and the Reformers, "Sola Scriptura" (only the
Scripture).
Our Faith:
We believe and teach the foundational tenets of the classic Christian
faith as expressed in the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed. We believe
the Bible to be the Word of God, divinely inspired and preserved, the
only and final rule of faith and practice. We believe that Jesus Christ
is God incarnate, the Lamb of God sacrificed to atone for the sins of
mankind, that He was physically resurrected from death, returned to Heaven,
and will return physically to Earth to establish fully His Kingdom on
Earth. We believe that the Holy Spirit is God's presence on Earth today,
and that His gifts are a gracious provision to empower and enable believers
to live in victory, obey the Great Commission, and fulfill God's will
for the Church.
We believe that Jesus Christ is, as He Himself declared in John 14:6,
the only means of redemption, and that His substitutionary atonement the
only way for lost and sinful man to be reconciled to God.
